Markham Dart League Ladder
MDL Dart Ladder
In order to create more cross divisional play and just to have another excuse to play darts we are starting the MDL Dart ladder. Sign up at mdl@markhamdartleague.com and try to challenge your way up the ladder.
No matter where you start on the ladder, after a period of time you will end up playing games with people of similar ability. If you improve, you are likely to go up the ladder and will challenge yourself against more difficult opponents.

Just a few simple rules for the ladder.
1. You must accept any challenge put forward to you. If you play another match without answering a pre-existing challenge it is voided. CC all challenges to the mdl mailbox so there is proof of each and every challenge.

2. You may challenge the player one or two positions above you on the ladder (if we have a full ladder of 24 players it will be changed to up to three positions above). If the challenger wins they switch positions. These two players cannot play again until each has played a match against another player. You can only challenge or be challenged by one player at a time. It is first come, first served.

3. NEW! Format is 6 out of 11 games of 501. Diddle for who goes first in first game and then alternate for every subsequent game.

4. All games should be played within 14 days of a challenge being made (unless there are extenuating circumstances) otherwise the challenger wins. NEW RULE: IF YOU DON'T BOTHER TO ANSWER A CHALLENGE TWICE YOU ARE REMOVED FROM THE LADDER.

5. You should play your game at a mutually convenient time. If your schedules do not coincide (one person can only play work days 9-5 and the other only evenings and weekends) and you CANNOT agree, then the match is void. If a player fails to be available for three matches then they will be removed from the ladder.

6. New players may join the ladder at any time, but they must start in the last position and work their way up.

7. If the person being challenged offers 3 different (on different days) and the challenger cannot make any of them, then the CHALLENGE is VOID.

8. If the person being challenged cannot offer 3 different available (on different days) then the CHALLENGER WINS by default.

9. If either party is more than 20 minutes late in attending an agreed match then the absent player loses the match.

10. If you make a successful challenge you swap your name with the person you beat. Therefore you may jump (or drop) up to two positions at a time.

11. Matches played on a Tuesday night must be completed by 7:15 or after league matches are complete. Do not keep league players from warming up!

12. If the two players cannot agree to where they should play their game, then the person being challenged chooses.
